Girls’ Generation – TTS has been nominated in three categories at the “Samsung Galaxy The 27th Golden Disk Awards in Kuala Lampur”: the Disk Album Award, the Digital Music Award, and the Popularity Award. The group will be competing against other artists such as BIG BANG, PSY, and Busker Busker, as well as fellow SM Entertainment artists, including Super Junior, SHINee, f(x), and EXO.
The winners of the album and digital music awards will be determined from the artists’ sales during the year of 2012, from January to December. The receiver of the Popularity Award will be decided by a popularity vote and the judges’ ratings of the nominees.
January 15th will be the start of this two-day event, which will be held at Sepang International Circuit in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia. jTBC will broadcast the show. This year’s “Golden Disk Awards” will begin at 7:30PM MYT on January 15th for the Album portion and resume at the same time on the 16th for the Digital Music section of the award ceremony.
Tickets for the two-day event is priced at RM688 for Rockpit and RM999 for the Samsung Galaxy Zone for two-day access while early birds who buy their tickets starting from December 9th to 15th will get a discounted price of RM620 and RM898 for each zone respectively.
Meanwhile, the last year Golden Disk Awards was also held outside of Korea earlier this year at Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan where Girls’ Generation won the Digital Daesang Award for the ‘The Boys’. Girls’ Generation have also won Daesangs consecutively on previous occasions; Digital Daesang in 2009 for ‘Gee’ and Disk Daesang in 2010 with ‘Oh!’ making them the first girl group to win three Daesangs.

Kwon Yuri (권유리) was born on December 5th, 1989. December 5th, 2012 is Girls’ Generation member Yuri’s 23nd or 24rd birthday. (Editor’s note: Yuri is 23 according to her Western age, and is 24 according to her Korean age)
Don't look down on this tanned-skin girl, she'll find a way to get in to the deepest core of your heart, and when you've realised it, it's too late, because you're already loving her. Kwon Yuri is a dangerous person. The more you know about her, the deeper you fall in love with her. You don’t know her, not because of your ignorance, it’s simply because there’s too much to be discovered in her. Her real personalities and characteristics is much different from the person she displayed on stage.
From the first sight you saw her, performing on stage with the 8 other goddesses, she seems amazing, gorgeous, beautiful, charming and most of all SEXY. She opposes the sexy image as she's 'The Sexy' of Girls' Generation, but this girl is really dorky, sometimes a little dumb, crazy and absolutely hyperactive. Her appearance might be enough for you to fall in love with her, but with her personalities, you might not be able to resist her charms anymore.
Lets talk about her appearance, her sexy image on stage. I've no idea how she pulls off her sexy charms, being sexy so effortlessly, she does the same dance moves as others, but hers was so much sexier, it's like she had a kind of magical charm that is able to amaze the audience.
She’s born to be an artiste, every member said so.
Taeyeon said, “Her smile is friendly and kind, but too dazzling. I almost thought that she was already a debuted artiste.”
Sooyoung said, “She has too many talents. I could already predict that she’s going to succeed in the future.”
Yoona chose her as the member whom she admires the most. She said, “I admire her appearances when she is dancing. Her dance has a magical charm that can conquer the audiences.”
Although she seems to be like a genius, but she's not. She worked hard to be everything she is today.

I would never forget how this Kkabyul was being so excited during the concert, she's so happy, constantly showing us love signs and grateful smiles. Running around the stage all the time, being super hyperactive, trying as hard as she can to tell us how much she loves us SONEs.
Although she seems so flawless, she tried hard to cover up her flaws by working hard. She's the slowest member in memorizing dance steps. She is still quite prone to mistakes. In fact, Yuri’s fellow members have mentioned her as the member who messes up the most. Sometimes when she couldn't memorize the lyrics, she will just keep humming along with the melody. When she's late in a dance choreography, she would continue with her confident face but looking at others at the same time to get the choreography correctly, catching up very fast without many of the audience noticing it. When she danced wrongly, she would continue dancing with that confident face, you might not realize it when the camera is closing up at her because she's just so confident about it. However being a professional artist, she smiled even though with the mistakes and flaws.
Kwon Yuri might not be perfect but she's a well-rounded artist, she is officially the a supporting vocalist and 1 of the lead dancer in Girls' Generation, but she has a really nice voice, maybe her dance is much more amazing with the S curvature, that's why she's the main dancer. She's also an actress right now, she got the lead female role in Fashion King, which is the first drama she's involved in. On top of that, she is also a model, an actress, a spokeswoman, a reality show star, a songwriter, and a television show emcee, and an awards show hostess.
Maybe because she was born on December 5th, the date when Waltz Disney was created, she's very fond of Mickey Mouse. Being a really sweet heart, she wrote cards to staff of Fashion King and gave them chocolates on Valentines.
Even though she tries so hard to be a great artist, she doesn't really care about losing her image, showing her real personality on stage. She's being very real to herself and always a supportive member in Girls' Generation, taking care of her unnies and dongsaeng. She doesn't even care much when the members were making fun of her for always sticking her tongue out while she was sleeping. When Kwon Yuri is really frustrated, she'll just let out all her feelings with a "WAA!!!" and some loud sobs. To win the game in Running Man, Yuri and Yoona didn't care about their image, dancing with weird dance moves just to hit a higher score.

Most of the time Yuri would act silly or dumb after the spotlights goes off, being a prankster in front of her members, and the members of Girls’ Generation have fallen victims to her pranks numerous time. Being crazy all by her own, dancing the kkab dance even though company banned her doing it any more. Being a really funny reality star, acting gangster or acting cutes with aegyo. To maintain her body figure, she would stretch and do Yoga every morning after she wakes up. She even posses the ability of sleeping, anytime and anywhere! She loves to scare Tiffany all the time, putting fake bugs on Tiffany bed, scaring her from the back. Yuri loves Yoona a lot as well, her dorm mate and as well as her best friend, calling Yoona all the time when Yoona is recording her drama.
She loves her fans with all her heart, always wearing stuffs that SONEs gave to her. Expressing her love every time, wrote her real feelings on the Tossi blog she had last time. She even went outside the stage when she's having rehearsal to take a picture with all the fans, surprisingly no one noticed that is Kwon Yuri, biggest troller ever!

Girls’ Generation has been nominated for “World’s Best Group” at the “2012 World Music Awards”, taking place on December 20th at Marlins Park Stadium in Miami, Florida. The “2012 World Music Awards” is famously set to enter the “Guiness Book of World Records” as the biggest live music awards show ever going live to the most countries, with more than a billion viewers seeing this live three hour event.
The “World Music Awards”, an international award show founded in 1989, annually honors recording artists based on worldwide sales data provided by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). This year, Girls’ Generation is up for the award of “World’s Best Group” among 41 other artists, including fellow K-Pop acts Big Bang and Wonder Girls. Online voting is currently opened on the official “World Music Awards” website. Fans can vote once per day.
Also, Girls’ Generation – TTS and Jessica are both nominated for three different categories at the “2012 SBS MTV Best of the Best’”. Girls’ Generation – TTS is nominated for both “Best Global” in the “Best Music Video” category and “Artist of the Year” in the “Best Live” category. Jessica is nominated for “Best Cameo” for her appearance in SHINee’s “Sherlock” under the “Best Music Video” category. Voting is available online at the official SBS MTV website. Fans can vote for each category once per hour.

Girls’ Generation is donating eight tons of rice to help those who are in need.
It was revealed by Seoul Gangnam (a district in Seoul) that through rice donations by Girls’ Generation on December 5th, 66,400 people in need will be able to receive a warm meal.
The rice that was donated this time was from the rice that was delivered to Girls’ Generation members at various press conferences as support by fans. 3 tons from Yoona’s “Love Rain” press conference, 3 tons from Sunny’s musical “Catch Me If You Can”, 1.46 tons from Tiffany’s musical “Fame”, and 540kg of rice from Sooyoung’s “The 3rd Hospital” was received from fans.
The rice will be used preciously to be distributed to underfed children, elders without families, and severely disabled people, amongst others.
A source at Gangnam-gu stated, “I want to thank Girls’ Generation and their fans for extending a warmhearted hand to those in need.”
In honor of Yuri’s birthday on December 5th, fans of Girls’ Generation placed a poem in a newspaper advertisement. Pictured above, the poem reads:
