Photos from the first script reading for tvN’s new drama ‘The Third Hospital’ was recently revealed.
On March 14th, the actors participating in the new drama ‘The Third Hospital’ gathered in one place for the script reading for the first time. The actors who are confirmed to appear in this drama are Kim Seungwoo, Oh Jiho, Kim Minjeong and Choi Sooyoung. As well as, Park Geunhyung, Im Haryong, Im Hyungjun, and Yoo Taewoong.
The intense script reading session proceeded with the veteran actors covering four of the upcoming episodes of the drama. However, due to the unfamiliar medical terminology, actors such as Kim Seungwoo, who plays a board-certified neurologist as well as the other actors, lightened up the mood and created laughs at the session as they kept mispronouncing some of the medical terms.
On the other hand, actress Kim Minjeong, who had previous experience with medical dramas, received a lot of praise from other actors and staff as she was able to read the difficult dialogues with no problems. During the breaks, actor Oh Jiho, who will be playing the role of Seunghyun, brightened up the atmosphere as he joked around with the staff and the other actors, later being named the ‘mood maker’. And lastly, acting in her first drama, Girls’ Generation member Sooyoung will be playing the cute and loveable character in the drama. During the script reading, Sooyoung received recognition from the other actors as she was able to express her character smoothly and naturally.
‘The Third Hospital’ is set in the neurosurgical department of an alternative hospital and will portray the tense confrontation between Oriental and Western medicine specialists. This will be a very new concept for Korean medical dramas. One of the drama’s representatives revealed, “Although this was the first script reading for ‘The Third Hospital’, all the actors analysed and portrayed their characters with such depth that their passion for acting could be felt. This also increased our expectations for the drama.”
After the successful proceeding of the first script reading of ‘The Third Hospital’, they will begin their pre-production filming in April. The first episode of the new drama is scheduled to air in late July.
