Girls’ Generation to Be the First Celebrities on Postage Stamps in Korea

Stamps with Girls’ Generation as the models, “Girls’ Generation My Own Stamps” will go on sale at the beginning of August.

Korea Post revealed, “‘Girls’ Generation My Own Stamps’ is the first celebrity stamp contracted by Korea Post and was specially created with the global K-Pop fever’s leader that has been active all around the world, Girls’ Generation.”

The stamps will be presented as a celebratory set for Girls’ Generation’s fifth anniversary. Nine stamps will be produced, carrying members’ photos from their third official album, “The Boys”, along with their autographs, and five stamps with jacket photos from their “Gee” and “Oh!” albums will also be produced. The total of fourteen stamps are expected to garner much attention from fans.
The price of the stamps will be 20,000 won and will be available for purchase at the Seoul Central Post Office, as well as 50 other post offices in the country. The stamps will be available to view at the “Korea Philatelic Exhibition” at Coex in Samsung-dong from August 9th through the 13th.

Kim Taewan from Korea Post also stated, “The Girls’ Generation stamps will contribute greatly to the stamp culture and help the Hallyu movement grow.”
