On February 23rd, Tiffany attended the grand opening of retail store “8ight Seconds” at Shinsadong Garosugil in Kangnam, Seoul.
This fashion brand not only has stylish clothes, but allows the
shopper to experience their full creativity while they shop. What do
you think of Tiffany’s outfit? Looks pretty stylish to me! She doesn’t wear teal too often, so this was a pleasant change from her normal pink . Her silver dress matches perfect with the teal top and they definitely compliment each other! More pictures below.
Jessica was on KBS Star
Date for an interview following her role on Wild Romance. It’s quite
an interesting clip showing BTS scenes from Wild Romance, among other
SNSD activities. I think the main draw was her drawing of her
interviewer. If you remember from last November, our Sica drew Sunny on another variety show. That painting wasn’t her greatest work lol. Check out this clip, also English subbed, and see how she did this time!
Recently on a forum, a ranking of “SM Entertainment’s Top 6 Beauties” was created and has received a lot of attention.
The ranking rated all SMEnt idols, past and present. As expected, our center image girl Yoona made the list! There’s a reason she’s the center image of SNSD right?? . Even though that eye smile will get me every time, if you want to judge on pure looks, I think I would have to go with Yoona as the prettiest out of the girls (not that any of them are even close to not pretty). She made the list at number 5.
Other idols included f(x) Sulli at 6th (well what do you know, another center image girl ). The other 4 idols are all sunbae’s, respectively. They include Lee YeonHee in 4th, Go Ara in 3rd, CSJH The Grace Lina in 2nd and S.E.S. Eugene in 1st! Oh man, do you guys remember the “Dreams Come True” days?? One of my favorite songs from way back when S.E.S. was popular. Maybe a lot of you were still little babies and don’t remember .
Anyway, congrats to Yoona and the other idols for making the list of the prettiest SM has to offer!
The nine member girl group Girls’ Generation has been chosen as Korea’s
best “Power Celebrity” for the second year in a row (since 2011). Forbes
Korea published their first issue nine years ago, and this was the
result of the “Korea’s Power Celebrity 40″ survey, where a celebrity is
defined as a famous person who is well known amongst the general
public. Forbes Korea releases forty people out of a total of one hundred
based on the categories of earnings, influence, reputation, and
professionalism. This follows the same survey method of Forbes
“Celebrity 100″ in the US.
Girls’ Generation landed in the number one spot this year. They came
in first and second place in the categories for number of articles
published, and television commercials plus broadcasted activities
respectively. Girls’ Generation is also the most wanted television
guest. They shot 36 television commercials, which helps celebrities
raise their fame. Their third album, “The Boys”, which was released last
year, sold 380,000 copies, making it the best selling album of 2011.
Girls’ Generation’s first Japanese album, “Girls’ Generation”, which
was released on June 31st 2011, reached a shipping record of one million copies,
a first in the history of Japan as a Korean artist . There will be a
new music video to continue the rapid advancement of Girls’ Generation
into Japan. The music video will be for their new song “Time Machine”,
and comedian Imada Kouji will appear in the video.
“Time Machine” is a new ballad song that was recorded for last year’s
repackaged album release on December 28th, titled “Re:Package Album:
Girls’ Generation ~The Boys~”. On February 25th, the song will also be
promoted in Girls’ Generation’s CF of UHA Mikukato “E-ma Nodoame”.
Imada Kouji is a self-proclaimed Girls’ Generation fan and leads in
knowledge and enthusiasm in the entertainment world, so the staff of
Girls’ Generation made the offer to include him.
On the day of shooting, which fell on Valentine’s Day, Imada was not
concerned that it was a day off and continued on with the schedule. He
was fully motivated and looked forward the challenge. Imada Kouji was
often seen as a strong man, but for this he passionately acted out the
role of a weak man. He was to cry alone in a room while remembering
about the unforgettable past.
Imada Kouji commented on his performance and said, “This is my
happiest job ever since a couple of years ago. Before the manager
finished talking, I enthusiastically said, ‘I’ll do it.’ The filming was
really fun. I gave it my all. When I saw the proposal written with
‘Girls’ Generation Tenth Member’, I felt complete like cutting the
goal-tape. I want to receive a business card that says ‘Girls’
Generation Tenth Member’. As one of the fans of Girls’ Generation in the
entertainment world, I’m glad they offered me the spot. To the other
entertainers who are fans of Girls’ Generation, I feel like I have to
tell them the stage has changed (laughs).”
Furthermore, the music video for “Time Machine” is set to be released
in early March. For the girls, this music video concept is something
that they have not done so far and it seems that the video was
influenced by the atmosphere of the teaser. The thirty-second version of
the teaser can be seen on Girls’ Generation’s official Japan Facebook page which
was opened on February 24th, while the fifteen-second version will be
broadcast on Japanese TV on February 25th.Check out the thirty-second version of the teaser below.
A new advertisement has surfaced in Japan for the cough drop candy “E-ma Nodoame.”
Yet another company our girls are advertising for. I’m sure having
our girls as endorsers will gain this company increased revenue. The
commercial also features their new song “Time Machine” off “The Boys”
repackaged Japanese album. Hmm…with all this sudden air time this new
song is getting, will this be their new single in Japan? How about a
music video??? Only time will tell!
Can’t
help but love their pretty black and purple dresses in this picture. I
think the dark purple goes really well with the black! Check out the
CF below plus a BTS clip!
Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon received praise when she injured her toe and continued to emcee the Gaon Chart Awards.
Taeyeon injured her toenail while she performed her MC duties with
Joo Younghoon in “The First Gaon Chart K-pop Awards” that was held at
the Samsung Card Hall in Blue Square.
Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon and Yoona accepted the “Special Oricon
Award” on behalf of all the members. After Yoona’s acceptance speech,
she asked Taeyeon to deliver her own speech. At this time, Taeyeon said
her acceptance speech despite still being in the MC stands.
At this, Joo Younghoon explained, “Taeyeon has ripped her toenail
during the awards and she is still doing her duties as an MC while
fighting through the pain.”
Taeyeon replied by saying, “You don’t have to say that with so much
detail. I’ve only gotten hurt a little bit,” and eased the fans’ hearts.
But Taeyeon had to put on slippers instead of high heels because of her injury.
Fans expressed their sadness by saying, “If her toenail was flipped
then the pain would be horrible”, “There should be limitations to
dancing”, “Taeyeon is really admirable. She didn’t show her pain..She
has more than enough rights to be the kid leader”, and, “Make sure to
get medical attention for it”.
On February 22nd, Girls’ Generation took home two awards on the First Gaon Chart KPOP Awards show.
Girls’ Generation won the Oricon Chart Special Award for their chart
topping first Japan album. While all the members were not in attendance,
Yoona arrived from a previous schedule just in time to accept the
award. Taeyeon, who was MC for the awards show, also said a few words
thanking fans.
Gaon awarded albums by quarters of the year, and Girls’ Generation
won the Album of the Year Award for the fourth quarter with “The Boys”.
Yoona returned to the stage and thanked fans all around the world for
their love and support, and also said that she missed her members. In a
cute moment, Yoona complained that Taeyeon was too far away since she
was at the MC podium off to the side of the stage, but both Taeyeon and
Yoona still did their cheer “Right now, it’s Girls’ Generation!” along
with the many fans in attendance.
Girls’ Generation had the highest selling album by a Korean artist on
the Oricon chart in Japan and highest selling album on the Gaon chart
in Korea in 2011.
A stylist for Girls’ Generation, Seo Sookyung, also won a Style Award for her work with “The Boys”.
Congratulations to Girls’ Generation on their wins! Check out the acceptance speeches below.
On February 21, photos of Girls’ Generation’s Jessica and f(x)’s Krystal sharing more sibling moments were uploaded to several online forums, delighting their fans. Titled “Jessica Regains her Older Sister Status After a Year,” the two photos displayed the tight relationship the sisters had to one another.
The first photo was taken during the “2010 SBS Gayo Daejun,” and shows Krystal patting Jessica’s head as if she’s the older sister. However, the exact opposite happened just a year later at the “2011 SBS Gayo Daejun,” where Jessica (and fellow Girls’ Generation members) towered over Krystal as she gave her little sister a pat on her head.
Krystal is well known for taking care of – and being mischievous with - her sister. As a result, many friends and fans have commented that the roles of older and younger sister were reversed in the Jung family. The second photo humorously shows Jessica finally regaining control as the older sister.
Netizens commented, “Oh! Jessica unnie finally took back her status as Krystal’s older sister after a year,” “Congrats Jessica~” “Hmmm it maybe that Krystal purposely gave in haha,” and more.
The online music magazine “Popdust” is featuring Girls’ Generation in their weekly “Pop-Off”, a poll to decide between two newly discovered and popular songs. This week’s “Pop-Off” pits Girls’ Generation’s “The Boys” against One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful”. The winner of each week’s poll moves onto the next “Pop-Off”, and songs that win for three weeks in a row are removed from competition and enter the “Popdust Hall of Fame”. In the past, “Popdust” has featured well-known artists such as Avril Lavigne and Hot Chelle Rae.

Girls’ Generation’s Jessica and SE7EN are the latest cover models for the March issue of the Korean edition of British style magazine ‘Dazed & Confused’.
In the released photos, Jessica and SE7EN were holding a phone each in the respective covers while making a strong expression as if they are yelling at someone.
On the day the photos were taken, the two did not show their exhaustion and did their best to bring up the atmosphere at the photo shoot.
Also, it was said that the photo shoot staff complimented Jessica’s natural expression for the shoot.
Jessica and SE7EN’s photos could be seen in ‘Dazed & Confused’, which will be on sale starting February 21st.
