Taeyeon, Jessica, Sooyoung, and Yoona Rank on Independent Critics List of 100 Most Beautiful Faces

TC Candler has released the “Independent Critics List of the 100 Most Beautiful Faces of 2013″, which lists Taeyeon, Jessica, Sooyoung, and Yoona. Jessica was the first member of Girls’ Generation to appear on the annual ranking in 2011, placing 45th, and moved up to 5th in 2012, when Taeyeon and Yoona made their first appearances at 42nd and 50th, respectively. This year, Taeyeon, Jessica, and Yoona again are ranked on the top 100 at 9th, 20th, and 71st, respectively, while Sooyoung makes her first appearance on the list at 66th.

The “Independent Critics List of the 100 Most Beautiful Faces of 2013″ comprises women from 34 countries who are chosen based on grace, elegance, class, poise, joy, promise, and hope, beyond simply aesthetic perfection. The ranking has been published annually since 1990 and recently has received close to 40 million unique visitors from around the world.

Taeyeon Chosen as New Model for Nature Republic

On August 29th, Nature Republic, a cosmetics brand which delivers beauty energy from uncontaminated nature, revealed that the company has signed a two-year contract with Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon and EXO.

Nature Republic decided to use Taeyeon for her pure and lovely image to effectively deliver the brand’s “nature first” concept to the public. Nature Republic has expanded to twelve different countries and is expecting Taeyeon to have great synergy in bringing in positive results both within Korea and outside of Korea as she is a member of Girls’ Generation, the driving force behind Hallyu.

EXO, who debuted in April of last year, has been chosen for their healthy and polished charms. They already have a large fandom in Asia and recorded a double hit with their first album. Nature Republic is planning to use EXO’s global fame and unique charms to mainly promote the brand in China and Asia.

Nature Republic explained the reason for choosing the two models, saying, “We are using famous idol stars with clean images and various characteristics to increase the familiarity of our products both in and out of Korea, as well as to become a globally recognized brand.”

Taeyeon to Throw Opening Pitch with Seohyun Batting at LG Twins and Nexen Heroes Baseball Game

On August 27th, Taeyeon and Seohyun will make a special appearance at a LG Twins and Nexen Heroes baseball game at Jamsil Stadium. Taeyeon will throw the opening pitch of the game with Seohyun as an honorary batter. This will be Taeyeon’s first time delivering an opening pitch, making her the seventh member of Girls’ Generation to do so, following Jessica, Sunny, Tiffany, Yuri, Yoona, and Seohyun. Seohyun has also previously been the celebratory batter at a Doosan Bears and Kia Tigers game in April of 2009.

The members of Girls’ Generation have been honorary pitchers at two baseball games this year alone, with Tiffany throwing the opening pitch at a Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks baseball game in May, and Sunny throwing the opening pitch at a Los Angeles Dodgers and Cincinnati Reds baseball game in July.

Taeyeon, Sunny, and Tiffany Appear on ‘Danny from LA’

On August 13th, Mnet America released an interview with Taeyeon, Sunny, and Tiffany at Dodgers Stadium on “Danny from LA”, a weekly show hosted by Danny Im from Korean hip hop group 1TYM. The interview took place on July 28th, when Taeyeon, Sunny, and Tiffany attended Korea Day at a Los Angeles Dodgers and Cincinnati Reds baseball game.

During the interview, the three members and Danny discussed Taeyeon’s rendition of the Korean national anthem, Sunny’s opening pitch, and which members of Girls’ Generation are the most athletic. Danny also wished Tiffany a happy birthday, and Taeyeon and Tiffany mentioned Girls’ Generation’s future plans, including Girls’ Generation’s world tour and an album possibly to be released in the fall or winter.

Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon has grabbed people’s attention with her participation in the OST for Korea’s first full 3D film, “Mr. Go”.

Through “Hong Gil-dong”, “Beethoven Virus”, “Athena – Goddess of War”, “The King 2 Hearts”, and the recently revealed and loved “That Winter, the Wind Blows” OSTs, Taeyeon doubled the emotion in dramas with her outstanding singing. Following television, she has come up as an “OST Goddess” by advancing to the big screen.

“Bye”, the song that Taeyeon took part in for “Mr. Go”, is a song by musical director Lee Jaehak, who also created masterpiece OSTs with director Kim Yonghwa for Kim Ahjoong’s “Maria” in “200 Pounds Beauty”, as well as Loveholic’s “Butterfly” for “Take Off”, adding onto the anticipation.

Musical director Lee Jaehak, who created numerous unforgettable OSTs, delivering emotions and making the audience tremble, and Taeyeon’s OST for “Mr. Go” are expected to send an exhilarating pleasant feeling to the audience, boosting everyone’s spirits.

Taeyeon, Jessica, and Seohyun have each been nominated for “Most Popular 2013 Drama OST” at the “Seoul International Drama Awards 2013″. K-League Interviews Taeyeon for Official Guidebook, ’2013 Beautiful K-League’

In the 2013 K-League (editor’s note: South Korean football league) official guidebook, Taeyeon was voted as the ideal type of K-League. Out of 755 players who voted, 540 voted for Taeyeon as their ideal type, naming her “Miss K-League”. Kim Taehee and Kim Sarang took second and third place in the poll, respectively. The official guidebook, titled “2013 Beautiful K-League”, also included an interview with Taeyeon.

We asked the somewhat cheeky question of “Who is your ideal type?” to players who will be playing in the 2013 K-League Classic and K-League Challenge. While married players didn’t answer with their wives in mind, Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon, who received enthusiastic support from unmarried players, beat actresses Kim Taehee, Kim Sarang, as well as another girl group member, miss A’s Suzy, and became “Miss K-League”. We had to hear from Taeyeon, who received a generous amount of love from the K-Leaguers.

-Beautiful K-League: Passing prominent candidates, Kim Taehee, Suzy, and Kim Sarang, you have become the number one ideal type amongst K-League Classic and Challenge players. How do you feel?
-Taeyeon: I can’t believe it. (laugh) But I feel really good. Thank you.

-Beautiful K-League: Are you, by any chance, used to soccer players’ affections? Why do you think Beautiful K-Leaguers chose you as their ideal type? I want to hear your honest, inner thoughts.
-Taeyeon: I’m not sure. I’m really not. I’m starting to wonder what that reason is too.

-Beautiful K-League: Most of the players who chose you as their ideal type were born in the later years of the 1980′s. Looking at just those results, rather than ‘samchon (translator’s note: uncle) fans’, it seems the fan composition has changed to ‘friend fans’ or ‘dongsaeng (translator’s note: younger) fans’. Is that how it really is?
-Taeyeon: I think the type of people who like Girls’ Generation is always diverse. If we gain fans who are good at sports, I think it would be very nice.

-Beautiful K-League: In 2008, there were performances at various soccer matches, from a Korea-Japan all star match, to a Manchester United visitors match, to a Peace Queen Cup. Is there a difference between concerts and other events?
-Taeyeon: I always perform at concerts happily, but there has been a moment where I worried about the soccer field grass being damaged.

-Beautiful K-League: If you were to choose an ideal type amongst soccer players, who would it be?
-Taeyeon: When I see players sweat on the grounds, they all look hard-working and cool, so it’s hard to pick just one person.

-Beautiful K-League: Which Girls’ Generation member has the most interest in soccer?
-Taeyeon: All my members are active, so I think they all like soccer. Personally, I sometimes play Winning 11 (translator’s note: football game). (laugh) I like soccer!

-Beautiful K-League: K-League has been met with its 30th anniversary. Could you give the players and fans a line of encouragement?

On April 13th, Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun served as MCs on “Show! Music Core” for the last time. As always, the three entertained viewers in between performances with silly conversations and facial expressions as they introduced the upcoming songs and artists.

Just before the end of the show, the three members took turns to deliver their heartfelt thanks to the writers and staff of “Show! Music Core”, as well as the fans who attended the recording. Tiffany also gave thanks to Yuri, who was an MC with Tiffany from April of 2009 to July of 2010, and once more from October of 2011 to January of 2012 before she left to film “Fashion King”.

Finally, to conclude the show, Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun took to the stage as Girls’ Generation – TTS for a special performance of “Good-bye, Hello”, sending a warm reminder: “For us, that kind of good-bye doesn’t exist, hello hello, never say good-bye, hello.”

Fans of Girls’ Generation also took to Twitter to say good-bye to Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun, trending “#GoodbyeMCTTS” in first place worldwide.

Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun will be leaving their positions as MCs on “Show! Music Core” after serving together for more than a year. Taeyeon and Seohyun began as MCs on the weekly music show in February of 2012, joining Tiffany to form a three-person team which delighted viewers with silly antics that delivered many laughs. Tiffany previously served as an MC for “Show! Music Core” with Yuri from 2009 to 2010, and the two returned to the show in late 2011 as MCs until Yuri left to film “Fashion King”.

During their time as MCs, Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun formed Girls’ Generation’s first subunit, Girls’ Generation – TTS with “Twinkle”, traveled overseas multiple times to promote new Japanese singles and albums, performed in “SMTOWN Live World Tour III”, returned with all of the members of Girls’ Generation for “I Got A Boy”, and delivered an arena tour in Japan. Unfortunately, due to busy schedules, their time on “Show! Music Core” will come to an end in mid-April. “Show! Music Core” is currently searching for new MCs.

Taeyeon and Seohyun to Reprise Roles for ‘Despicable Me 2′

Anticipation grows for the sequel to 2010′s high grossing 3D animated film, “Despicable Me”, with “Despicable Me 2″ (in Korea as “Superbad 2″). Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon and Seohyun, praised for their voice dubbing in the first film, will reprise their roles for the upcoming sequel. Promotion for the film kicked off in Korea with the release of the first trailer.

Taeyeon provides the voice for Gru’s eldest daughter, Margo, a ten year old girl with an attitude far beyond her young age. Seohyun, meanwhile, voices the mischievous and cynical Edith.

In “Despicable Me 2″, Gru continues his dream in becoming the world’s greatest villain, yet is ironically recruited by the shadowy Anti-Villain League to combat the threat posed by the new character, Eduardo. Fans will be thrilled to see Girls’ Generation voice Gru’s cute kids as they team up with the lovable Minions once more.

Taeyeon is Chosen as Ideal Lady by Soccer Players

Pushing Kim Tae Hee and miss A’s Suzy aside, Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon became the dream girl of Korea’s soccer players.

On March 20, the Korean Professional Football League reported that in a survey completed by 755 soccer players in the K-league, 540 players selected Taeyeon as their ideal girl, taking in 71 percent of the votes. The majority of the players who voted Taeyeon were in their 20s.

At second and third were Kim Tae Hee and Kim Sarang. Miss A’s Suzy and Lee Min Jung placed third and fourth.

Upon hearing that she became Miss K-League, Taeyeon stated, “I can’t believe it. I feel great.” An interview with Taeyeon will be included in the 2013 K-League Official Guide.

The 2013 K-League Official Guide, which was issued on March 20, also highlights which celebrity was which player’s ideal girl. Most married soccer players referred to their wives.

On March 17th, Taeyeon opened an Instagram account and, to the delight of fans, has begun to share photos with her rapidly growing list of followers. Instagram is a photo-sharing service that allows users to quickly take pictures and share them through the internet.

To date, Taeyeon has uploaded eight images onto her account, ranging from a snapshot of her shoes to a photo of a road in Japan. Taeyeon also posted a message in an image, in which she explained why she chose to begin using Instagram. Her message reads:

Everyone! This is Taeyeon from Japan~
I am always looking for ways to interact with you all, and I want to share happy news with you all the time!
I’ve always used the official homepage and UFOtown but I felt that was missing… something?
(There are lots of small things that I want to share from time to time)
But it’s not like I can spam the official homepage… that’s just not right ㅜ
and UFOtown is just me receiving questions to answer..
I thought… it would be nice if I could ask you questions as well ^^
I know exactly what everyone is worried about right now.
I also don’t want me or anyone close to me to be hurt..
The reason I started Instagram was to be closer with you all!
The time I spend outside of Korea increases
and because of that, the number of international SONEs increases.
I wanted to… share more simple, interesting, trivial things.
I will uploads pictures like everyone else!
It’s very similar to the official page. The only difference is that the main topic is Taeyeon.
But remember that this doesn’t mean I will stop using the official homepage or UFOtown, so
whoever wants to ask me questions, use UFO >_<

Taeyeon can be found on Instagram under the username taeyeon_ss. No other members of Girls’ Generation currently have an official Instagram account.

SM Representative Confirms That Taeyeon's Instagram Account is Real

Last March 18, Taeyeon opened up her Instagram account, starting off with a picture of herself headed somewhere while holding up a V-sign. She wrote, “I want to be free, but once again, I realize that I cannot be free.” (Editor's note: The picture above is the newest Instagram post of Taeyeon, posted on March 20th.)

With this, many SONEs were confused and many were asking if the account is real. Recently, an SM representative has just confirmed to enews team that Taeyeon's instagram account, taeyeon_ss, is real.

It seems that our girls are finding more ways to connect with fans. So now, show her support and follow!

Taeyeon's solo song 'And One' which was released last March,13 2013 in various music sites such as Olleh, Melon, Bugs, Soribada,and Naver Music hit #1 chart for two consecutive days.The ballad song that express the painful love lyrics and combined with Taeyeon's pure voice doubling the sad mood of the drama.
