Girls’ Generation's Taeyeon Reveals New Single on “To the Beautiful You”

Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon revealed her new single, “Closer,” on the latest episode of SBS drama “To the Beautiful You.”

The song, which is part of the drama’s official OST album, was first revealed during the August 29 episode of the drama. It was played during the scene where Sulli cleans up her closet and looks back at her memories with SHINee’s Minho (Kang Tae Joon’s role).

Taeyeon’s strong vocals and the song’s emotional tone matched well with the scene’s overall atmosphere. Especially, the viewers were able to tell the song was Taeyeon’s new song immediately as her powerful style is well established throughout the song. In fact, shortly after the scene was played, Taeyeon and “Closer” were ranked at the top of key search terms online.

Sooyoung Attends ‘The 3rd Hospital’ Press Conference

On August 29th, Sooyoung attended the press conference for tvN’s new drama, “The 3rd Hospital”, alongside her co-stars, Oh Jiho, Kim Seungwoo, Choi Yoonso, and Kim Minjung. The press conference was conducted in the Seoul Imperial Palace Hotel. Sooyoung appeared at the event in an elegant white dress that highlighted her slender long legs.

During the press conference, Sooyoung’s co-star Oh Jiho revealed that there were meant to be two kiss scenes between him and Sooyoung. ”There were meant to be two kiss scenes, but it’s a pity that they weren’t shot,” he said. When asked why not, he responded by saying, “I don’t really know why either. Maybe it was canceled because there could be a big incident from the fans’ concerns, but nevertheless it’s a shame.” Hearing that statement, the room was brought to laughter.

When asked about his role in the drama, in which he can’t accept Sooyoung’s love, he replied, “It’s not a role where the character accepts her love, so in reality I felt sad about it.” Jiho then expressed his regret, saying, “He should have accepted it.”

Additionally, Girls’ Generation recorded a message for Sooyoung, showing their strong support for their fellow member. In the video, the girls mention that Sooyoung has taken on the role of Lee Euijin in “The 3rd Hospital” and express their great anticipation for her acting. They end their message by cheering Sooyoung on, shouting, “Sooyoung fighting! Lee Euijin fighting! ‘The 3rd Hospital’ fighting!”

“The 3rd Hospital” will be broadcast through Korean network tvN on September 5th.

Tiffany and Super Junior’s Kyuhyun Released ‘To The Beautiful You’ OST

Tiffany and Super Junior member Kyuhyun’s OST for the drama “To The Beautiful You” is now available on various music sites, including MelOn, Genie, and Bugs starting today, August 29th. The song, which will also be titled “To The Beautiful You”, will have a strong, rhythmical drum and bass guitar sound to accompany the two idols’ strong vocals. The track is expected to be refreshing and will leave a strong impression on its audience.

Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung has been chosen as the official model for the cosmetics brand, LLang.

LLang is a masstige [Editor's note: prestige items that are attainable] red ginseng makeup brand from KGC Life Gene.

A LLang staff member stated, “We chose Sooyoung as we felt that her bright, lively image suited the brand’s image well.” They showed their anticipation by adding, “She will become the new K-beauty that not only Korean women in their 20′s-30′s will relate to, but women all over the world.”

Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung filmed for two days on August 27-28th and caused the staff members around [the set] to admire her lively, moist skin through LLang’s newest product, Red Gene Magic Oil. She also received praise from the staff members after she showed her bright smile and passion throughout the long shoot.

CFs for LLang products will begin airing on television in the middle of September.

Girls' Generation is Confirmed to Attend Kpop Fantasy Concert in Manila, Philippines

Top K-Pop group Girls’ Generation will finally visit the Philippines for the first time early next year alongside junior labelmates, EXO.

Girls’ Generation and EXO confirmed their participation in the upcoming ‘K-POP Fantasy’ concert which will be taking place on January 19, 2013 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines.

It is said that a great number of K-Pop stars will be participating in the show as well, and the Filipino fans already expressed excitement upon hearing the news. The large-scale concert is being organized by Korean Media Holdings (KMH) company, a media content provider in South Korea.

An official from KMH said, “As more companies are focusing their business spreads to the south east Asia region, the importance of foreign market is growing larger. KMH will be the leader of pioneering the foreign contents market, and we will produce new businesses.”

Girls' Generation Announces 2013 Japan Concert Tour

Girls’ Generation’s Japanese fansite (www.sonejapan.net) has just confirmed a Japan concert tour for Girls’ Generation in 2013. Though a schedule for the concert tour has yet to be announced, fanclub membership applications for fans living in Japan will open September 5th after 12 o’clock noon local time. Members of the fanclub will be eligible for priority applications for tickets to the concert tour. In addition, Girls’ Generation’s currently active mobile fansites will be closing in December, to be replaced by this new fanclub website.

This will be Girls’ Generation’s second concert tour in Japan. Girls’ Generation’s first Japanese tour took place in 2011, beginning on May 31st in Osaka and concluding on July 18th in Fukuoka. The concert tour also visited Saitama, Tokyo, Hiroshima, and Nagoya for a total of fourteen performances in six cities. As many as 140,000 fans attended Girls’ Generation’s first Japanese tour, with nearly 450,000 people looking to purchase tickets, suggesting that the tickets for the 2013 Japan concert tour will also be in high demand.

Girls’ Generation’s Yuri Receives Attention for her “Naughty Hands” on Taeyeon

Girls’ Generation‘s Yuri has been receiving attention for her “naughty hands” during a concert.

Photos of Yuri and Taeyeon were recently uploaded on an online community site entitled, “Yuri taking off Taeyeon’s clothes? A capture of Yuri’s naughty hands.”

The photos show Yuri seemingly pulling down a part of Taeyeon’s shirt. Taeyeon appears flustered at this and Yuri is seen apologetic and embarrassed.

But according to fans at the concert, the shoulder fringes of Taeyeon’s shirt was actually flipping around while she was dancing and it became disorganized. So Yuri stopped to help rearrange the fringes but the side of her top accidentally fell down.

Netizens commented, “Both of their facial expressions are so real”, “There was a wardrobe malfunction like that?”, and “I though she was a naughty Yuri, turns out she’s a caring Yuri.”
