Girls’ Generation fans placed an advertisement in a daily newspaper to celebrate Taeyeon’s 25th birthday on March 9th. There is also a poem in the birthday dedication, which reads:
“Through love shedding tears, you’re love, Through singing smiling, you’re happiness”
Fans have already garnered attention by putting ads on city buses on several routes in Seoul and in Jeonju, Taeyeon’s city of birth.
In addition to the advertisements, on February 23rd, fans volunteered at the Jeonju City Welfare Center to commemorate Taeyeon’s birthday.
Don’t forget to leave a message in Taeyeon’s birthday thread.
On the 9th of March in the year 1989, a goddess with a beautiful voice was sent down to earth to pursue her dream. This girl, named Kim Taeyeon (
김태연) is close to perfect as she portrays many of her different talents to us all around the world.
During the 2004 SM Entertainment's 8th Annual Best Contest, SM Entertainment got lucky as they discovered Taeyeon when she won the Best Singer 1st Place & Grand Award in the contest. It was from then on that her talents were further nurtured before debuting as Girls' Generation's leader in August 5, 2007.
Taeyeon is often known to many as Taengoo, DJ Taeng, Ahjumma Taeng, or Kid Leader. She can also be considered as a well-rounded artist as she had experience in many fields eg. singing, acting, musical, dancing, radio DJ, variety show host, etc.. Being the leader of such a large group of girls (Girls' Generation), she carries out her duties responsibly and sometimes with the help of Manager Hwang (Tiffany), they would do head-counts like chodings (Editor's note: Elementary school students) as they fly to and from many places.
That cutie eye smile ^-^
Despite being the responsible Kid Leader in Girls' Generation, Taeyeon has a well-known dorky side to her also. Being a dork, she is crowned as the Queen of Facial Emotions with her cute tiny face. Sometimes she would have a Byuntae (Editor's note: Pervert) side to her as well, earning the nickname "ByunTaeng" from SONEs all around.
*Epic Face*
We can slowly but surely say that our Kid Leader is growing up, and maturing as the same time. From the days when she was just a baby-faced kid, SONEs watched her growing up year by year, and getting sexier and sexier at the same time. Regardless, she still maintained her good-natured personality despite the years of experience in the field of entertainment and Girls' Generation global success.
That oh-so-hot waistline
*nose bleeds*
And that to-die-for wink ~.^
Another one of Kim Taeyeon's definite specialty is her infamous ahjumma laughter. She can be some sort of happy virus because once her laughter starts to explode, there is no stopping it so soon.
Although Taeyeon is usually not the center of attention on stage most times, she still possesses this weird but interesting technique to creep into sones' hearts to make us fall head-over-heels for her. Out of nine of our beautiful ladies, Taeyeon can be considered as one of the quietest ones in the group. Yes, she doesn't speak much and she doesn't express much of herself, but no words are needed because direct eye-contact is enough to make our little hearts soften for her.
But of course, Kim Taeyeon is never too bored with her peas!
Lastly but most importantly is what everyone think of at the mention of "Kim Taeyeon", which is her beautiful vocals. She is dubbed the OST Queen in the K-Pop industry as many of her OST for various dramas has became a huge hit on charts and off charts. Many may fall for her at the instance when you heard her singing a beautiful ballad, because personally that's how I fell for her. As you get to know her even more thoroughly, no doubt you will fall even deeper for this young lady.
We here at Soshi Site 9 would like to express our deepest gratitude to SM Entertainment for discovering such a wonderful artist, we would also like to thank Taeyeon's family for letting SONEs and TAEGANGERs all over the world to get to know this fascinating lady, Kim Taeyeon.
Soshi Site 9 wishes Kim Taeyeon a Happy 24th Birthday (Korean age: 25). We hope to see more of our lovable Taengoo in the future~ We Love You!
Special thanks to Soshi Site 9's Admin, Riady for the adorable cupcakes (:
On March 6th, Jessica gave her final performance as “Elle Woods” in the musical adaptation of “Legally Blonde”, with Sunny and Sooyoung in the audience. Afterward, fans of Jessica arranged an event for SONEs to meet her and commemorate this last stage. During this time, she received gifts from the fans, exchanged some cheerful banter, and answered several questions. The event also included a mock graduation ceremony for Jessica since Elle Woods, her character in the musical, obtained a degree from Harvard Law School at the end of the story.
When Jessica first arrived, she was greeted with loud cheers from the fans in attendance. SONEs who had come from all over the world shouted out to her, and Jessica replied cutely in Thai, as well as in English for a fan from Amsterdam. A cake was brought in, Jessica received her “diploma”, and then everyone sang their congratulations. After they finished, Jessica sang back to express her thanks.
Once Jessica blew the candles on her cake, she began admiring the gifts that had been prepared. One fan drew a portrait of her, and she jokingly asked, “Why do I look so old? Who drew this?”, immediately followed by, “You drew it well. Thank you.” The fun interactions continued when Jessica replied in English to one of the fans, and another shouted that they didn’t understand. Jessica put on a playful indignant expression as she demanded, “Study English! Are you even my fan?”
Jessica also took a serious moment to sincerely thank SONEs for supporting “Sic Woods” and Girls’ Generation. When some fans expressed regret at not being able to attend the second Japan arena tour, she hinted that in the future, the girls will be holding concerts in South Korea and other locations, such as Hong Kong and Thailand. She continued to answer questions, including requests to “bend and snap!” and mentioned how she would remember her cast members and the songs much more than the single kiss scene.
The event was over all too soon, and both Jessica and the fans were reluctant for her to leave. Although this run of “Legally Blonde” is now complete, the event was able to give SONE and Girls’ Generation member alike many more precious memories.

After having modeled for Lotte Department Store since March of last year, Girls’ Generation has renewed its endorsement contract with the popular retail company for another year.
Girls’ Generation was the first idol group ever asked to endorse Lotte Department Store and was hired in order to attract customers in their teens and twenties with the group’s “bouncy” image, trend-leading fashion sense, and wide range of fans. In a survey conducted by Lotte Department Store in November, over 50% of participants answered that the store’s image “feels more bright and cheerful than before”. 70% of those surveyed also knew that Girls’ Generation modeled for Lotte Department Store.
A source from Lotte Department Store stated, “Girls’ Generation helped a lot in creating a young image for the department store. We considered other models too, but ultimately decided on renewing our contract with Girls’ Generation.”
Which idols did stylists pick as the best fashionistas?
The February 28th episode of Y-Star‘s ‘GoongGeumTa‘ tackled this very topic as the show finally moved past looking at the fortunes of various celebrities, shifting their focus to fashion rankings.
Stylists were called onto the show to rank various idols on their everyday fashion sense. For the males, various members from eight boy bands including Super Junior, B2ST, MBLAQ, Big Bang, and SHINee were ranked. Out of the male idols, G-Dragon was ultimately chosen as the King of fashion. The stylists complimented on his own unique style and while some of his clothing may look bizarre to the masses, he still exudes confidence no matter what he wears.
For the females, various members from eight girl groups were judged including 2NE1, f(x), SISTAR, miss A, 4minute, and Girls’ Generation. In the end, Jessica was crowned the Queen of idol fashion with the stylists reasoning that she has her own charming fashion style and can look good in almost anything.
High school photos of Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon have resurfaced various online communities, awing netizens with the idol’s beauty.
Titled “Baby-like Taeyeon’s High School Days,” several photos and screencaps from her debut days were uploaded. While Taeyeon’s facial features remain the same, she looks drastically different. Her current mature and charisma is nowhere to be found. Instead, fans were charmed with her fresh face and innocent expressions.
Those who’ve seen the photos commented, “Taeyeon was so cute in high school,” “She looks so young,” “She looks exactly the same. She just looks a lot more mature now,” and more.
Recently on an online community bulletin board, two photos were uploaded under the title, “Jessica’s new profile picture for ‘UFO Town.’” “UFO Town” is a website that connects fans to their idols by allowing the fans to be able to exchange text messages with their favorite stars.
