Girls’ Generation Performs at KBS’s ‘Open Concert’

Girls’ Generation performed for the KBS “Open Concert” 1000th episode on October 29th. The 60-minute broadcast was aired on KBS1 on November 10th and featured various music genres, from K-Pop to jazz. Other performers at the concert included Sonya, Kim Taewoo, 2NE1, and Ali.

Girls’ Generation performed “I Got A Boy” and “Dancing Queen” as part of the program. For the opening of their performance, they entered on stage with a remixed introduction of “I Got A Boy”. The girls looked stunning in the black-and-yellow outfits they’ve showcased previously during their “I Got A Boy” promotions. After their first song, Sooyoung briefly talked to the audience and then introduced their next performance, “Dancing Queen”.

Sunny to Appear on tvN’s ‘Grandpa Over Flowers 2′

On July 25th, Girls’ Generation’s Sunny flew on the sly to Taiwan to film tvN’s variety show, “Grandpa Over Flowers 2”. Despite the secrecy, the singer was spotted with cast members of the program at Taoyuan Airport in Taipei. You can watch a video of their arrival below.

Sunny was able to make a special appearance in the show since Lee Seojin, one of the actors in “Grandpa Over Flowers 2”, mentioned that he admires her and would enjoy traveling in her company. Unfortunately, she was not able to finish filming the episode due to her schedule; Sunny, along with Taeyeon and Tiffany, will be throwing the opening pitch and singing the national anthem at the Dodgers baseball game in Los Angeles on July 28th.

The air date and time for “Grandpa Over Flowers 2″ have yet to be announced.

Girls’ Generation Holds ‘LOVE&GIRLS’ Flashmob Event at Universal Studios Japan

On June 19th, Girls’ Generation held their first ever flashmob event at Gramercy Park inside Osaka’s Universal Studios Japan to commemorate the release of their new single, “LOVE&GIRLS”. SM Entertainment recently released video footage from the event on its official YouTube channel.

Despite the rain, over 4,000 fans gathered in front of the special stage. When Girls’ Generation appeared on stage, all of the fans cheered enthusiastically. While the performance did start off only in front of the stage, as time went on, it gradually spread across the various areas until almost everyone, including security guards and park characters, was dancing along.

After the filming for the event had finished, Sooyoung returned to the stage once again and said, “To the fans that waited in the rain, thank you very much. I was really happy to be able to do the ‘Shampoo Dance’ together!” The other members were overjoyed at the success of their first ever flashmob, and Sooyoung said to the fans, “Since it is our first time trying this, a lot of the members were nervous, but it was a success. It made us really happy to be able to see the smiles of the fans that danced together with us. If people can listen to our song and smile, then it becomes our happiness too.”

Tiffany Interviews Brad Pitt for ‘World War Z’ on ‘Midnight TV Entertainment’

On June 12th, Tiffany appeared in a special segment on SBS’s “Midnight TV Entertainment” to interview Brad Pitt, who had traveled to South Korea to promote his upcoming film, “World War Z”. The interview took place at Geunjeongjeon of Gyeongbok Palace.

Before the interview began, Tiffany presented Brad Pitt with a pair of wooden geese, a traditional gift for newlyweds meant to symbolize fidelity. In addition, Tiffany asked Brad Pitt to greet Sooyoung, who has been a fan of Brad Pitt for years and is the host of “Midnight TV Entertainment” alongside Yoon Dohyun.

During the interview, Brad Pitt revealed his experience in Korea, his thoughts on his career, and his motivation for making “World War Z”. Tiffany also taught him the word “daebak” in order to describe his film to Korean fans.

In the “Midnight TV Entertainment” studio, Sooyoung explained that the members of Girls’ Generation all know that she been a fan of Brad Pitt since she was younger, and so Tiffany said that she would be sure to ask him to give a greeting to MC Sooyoung. She continued, “I thought after, there would be an ‘I love you, Sooyoung.’”

KBS Airs ’2013 Dream Concert’ Featuring Girls’ Generation

On May 31st, KBS aired the “I Love You Republic of Korea 2013 Dream Concert”, which took place earlier this month on May 11th at Seoul World Cup Stadium. “Dream Concert” is an annual event which features many performers, and this year’s lineup included Girls’ Generation among other artists, such as B2ST, SHINee, INFINITE, 2AM, U-KISS, ZE:A, KARA, SISTAR, 4minute, T-ara, SECRET, EXO, B1A4, Rainbow, Huh Gak, SPEED, BTOB, EvoL, and VIXX. Girls’ Generation performed “The Boys” and “I Got A Boy”, and then joined the other artists on stage for the finale with “Let’s Go On A Vacation”.

SK Telecom LTE Releases New CFs Featuring Yoona and Seohyun

The official YouTube channel for SK Telecom LTE recently unveiled four new videos featuring Yoona, Seohyun, and various other SM Entertainment artists, including Super Junior’s Siwon and Kyuhyun, SHINee’s Minho, and f(x)’s Sulli.

The first video shows snippets of the idols in various individual CFs. In Yoona’s clip, she and Sulli are in a cafe, and Yoona uses her phone to call her junior even though they are sitting right next to each other. The third clip below features Seohyun and Siwon having a fast-paced, fun exchange.

The last video reveals that the final round of the tournament between all the endorsers for SK Telecom LTE is pitting Seohyun against Kyuhyun. Fans can vote for Seohyun by posting her Korean name, “서현”, on the brand’s official Facebook page.

Jessica Made Another 'Legendary' Throw

Most fans of Jessica and Girls’ Generation remember the adorably awkward pitch that she threw straight to the ground last May. The throw went viral and even appeared on ESPN’s Sportscenter.

The newest throw was recently featured on an online community board under the title, “Sica’s new Pitch“. The throw occurred at a recent stop for their Japanese arena tour. It appears she wanted to compensate for the throw that went straight to the ground last time as she managed to do the complete opposite this time around. Determined to throw it correctly this time, Jessica tried an underhand throw instead of an overhead throw.

Sadly, just like Taeyeon with her accidental throw at a previous concert, Jessica misjudged her power and angle and sent the ball incredibly high up in a vertical line and had it drop straight back down nearby. Cutely mortified, she sank down to the ground and ran quickly away to recover.

YoonA and Sulli Pair Up For 'SK Telecom LTE' CF

The two girls filmed a quiet but adorable CF for the new LTE features for the mobile company. In one CF, YoonA calls Sulli even though they’re sitting at the same table. Confused, Sulli asks, “Unnie, why are you calling me when we’re in the same room?“, and YoonA answers, “Because it’s free!“.

In the 2nd CF, YoonA bosses Sulli around, asking for her mirror, more water, and then goes onto asking to share her data, which is one of their new possible features. Sulli seems annoyed at the request, but must have acquiesced, as later on YoonA says, “Give me a little more“.

Girls’ Generation Performs ‘I Got A Boy’ Goodbye Stage on ‘Music Bank’

On the latest broadcast of “Music Bank” on February 1st, Girls’ Generation ended their promotions for “I Got A Boy” on the show by serving their fans with an energetic and powerful goodbye stage while wearing their colorful, casual, hip-hop-style outfits. Sooyoung made the performance even more special by greeting their fans, “Ayo, SONE!”

During the backstage interview with CNBLUE, Tiffany mentioned that all nine members would do pushups if they win on this week’s K-Chart. However, the crown was passed on to the boys of CNBLUE who earned their first K-Chart win for their song “I’m Sorry”.

Girls’ Generation had been claiming first place on the music show for the past three weeks.

Meanwhile, Girls’ Generation will wrap up their promotions for “I Got A Boy” on MBC’s “Show! Music Core” tonight as they prepare to start their 2013 Second Japan Arena Tour next week on February 9th.

On February 1st, Girls’ Generation appeared on SBS MTV’s “The Show” to perform “I Got A Boy”. As always, the members gave a fun and exciting performance of their latest title track, this time dressed in red and white outfits that showed off their slim physiques.

Promotions for “I Got A Boy” will soon conclude as Girls’ Generation begins its second arena tour in Japan on February 9th, and the “I Got A Boy” goodbye stage on MBC’s “Music Core” will be today, February 2nd.

Girls’ Generation Wins Triple Crown on ‘M! Countdown’ with ‘I Got A Boy’

On January 24th, Girls’ Generation got the triple crown on Mnet’s “M! Countdown”, winning with “I Got A Boy” for the third time in a row.

The girls took the stage in cute red tracksuits decorated with hearts and bows. After performing, Girls’ Generation went up against CNBLUE and took home the award for first place.

Making the award even more meaningful is the fact that it is the 2000th day since Girls’ Generation’s debut. Seohyun and Tiffany took the mic to thank fans for their love and support before the members performed a very happy encore.

Girls’ Generation Performs ‘I Got A Boy’ on ‘Show! Music Core’

On January 12th, Girls’ Generation returned to MBC’s “Show! Music Core”. MCs Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun hosted the weekly music show which showcased a number of songs from various artists. After winning on both Mnet’s “M! Countdown” and KBS’s “Music Bank” over the past two days, Girls’ Generation successfully ended “Show! Music Core” with another outstanding performance of “I Got A Boy” sporting new black and yellow outfits.

Girls’ Generation’s will conclude their performances for this week’s music shows with their next performance tomorrow, January 13th, on SBS’s “Inkigayo”.

Girls’ Generation Wins ‘Music Bank’ K-Chart with ‘I Got A Boy’

On January 11th, Girls’ Generation took home the “Music Bank” K-Chart trophy for the group’s first win on “Music Bank” with “I Got A Boy”. This is Girls’ Generation’s second win overall on a weekly music show with “I Got A Boy”, having won first place yesterday on Mnet’s “M! Countdown”.

For tonight’s appearance on “Music Bank”, Taeyeon and Tiffany first gave a beautiful performance of “유리아이 (Lost in Love)”, their duet from the “I Got A Boy” album. Girls’ Generation then sang “I Got A Boy”, this time dancing in blue outfits, and gave another exciting rendition of the fourth album’s title track.

At the end of the show, Girls’ Generation received the “Music Bank” K-Chart trophy for winning first place, and the members thanked the staff of SM Entertainment, their parents, and their fans.

Girls’ Generation also recorded an interview from the set of “Music Bank” for “MyloveKBS”, where the members spoke about Yoona’s recent visit to KBS’s “Gag Concert”.

Finally, after Girls’ Generation’s appearance on “Music Bank” ended, fans took to Twitter to express their excitement over Girls’ Generation’s win.

Girls’ Generation Makes a Comeback on ‘Inkigayo’ and Performs at KBS’s ‘Hope Concert’

Girls’ Generation successfully returned to SBS’s “Inkigayo” on January 6th to promote their latest album, “I Got A Boy”.

Prior to their performances, Girls’ Generation had a short interview with the MCs of the show. Regarding their new concept, Tiffany said that Girls’ Generation took off their unified stage outfits to allow members to show off their individual charms and that they have returned with a funky, free hip-hop track. IU, one of the MCs for “Inkigayo”, jokingly added the reason behind Girls’ Generation’s success by explaining, “This is the year of the snake, and six members of Girls’ Generation are the snake sign.” When asked about Girls’ Generation’s plan for 2013, Yuri replied, “After promoting ‘I Got A Boy’, we will be having a Japan tour. After that, I want to have a concert in Korea.”

“Inkigayo” concluded its music broadcasting program with Girls’ Generation’s performances of “Dancing Queen” and “I Got A Boy”. The members were adorned in colorful tops and matching skinny jeans in “Dancing Queen” and red track outfits to match their powerful choreography for “I Got A Boy”.

SHINee’s Jonghyun and Minho also went to show their support for Girls’ Generation. SM Entertainment uploaded a backstage picture of them on their official Facebook account.

After their comeback performances, Girls’ Generation performed “I Got A Boy” at KBS’s “Hope Concert” in identical outfits from “Inkigayo”. Girls’ Generation is scheduled to appear on Mnet’s “M! Countdown” on January 10th.

On January 5th, Girls’ Generation made a successful return to “Show! Music Core”. Hosted by MCs Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun, “Show! Music Core” featured songs from many different artists and concluded with Girls’ Generation’s “Dancing Queen” and “I Got A Boy”. The members of Girls’ Generation continued to surprise fans with their varying outfits, donning colored sweaters and berets for “Dancing Queen” and new white, blue, and pink outfits for “I Got A Boy”.

Girls’ Generation’s next comeback stage will be tomorrow, January 6th, on SBS’s “Inkigayo” and will again feature “Dancing Queen” and “I Got A Boy”.

Girls’ Generation Makes Their Comeback on ‘Music Bank’

On January 4th, Girls’ Generation made their long-awaited comeback on KBS’s “Music Bank”, performing both “Dancing Queen” and the title track from their fourth Korean album, “I Got A Boy”.

Prior to their performances, the girls had a short interview with each other in the waiting room. To Yoona’s question about what might have been the most difficult thing while preparing for the comeback, Yuri answered, “As we have taken our high heels off and put on sneakers, it was a little difficult trying to pull of the powerful dances.” Playing off the lyrics of “I Got A Boy”, Jessica asked Taeyeon who her prince could be. Taeyeon wistfully replied saying she didn’t know and, “I wish he’d appear.” Taeyeon continued, asking Sooyoung, “When you look at our members, they have ‘ant waists’. Is there a way to maintain this ant waist, Sooyoung?” Sooyoung jokingly answered, “For an ant waist, you just need to collect ants. I’m just kidding. If you do Girls’ Generation’s waist spinning dance, wouldn’t your waist naturally become [slim] like an ant’s? Please follow along a lot, everyone.”

Girls’ Generation came out for “Dancing Queen” with cute outfits and great vocals, and for “I Got A Boy” they rocked the stage with their powerful dancing.

“Dancing Queen” made a splash on “Music Bank”‘s K-Chart this week, coming in at third place.

Girls’ Generation Returns to ‘M! Countdown’ with ‘Dancing Queen’ and ‘I Got A Boy’

On January 3rd, the members of Girls’ Generation made their long-awaited return to Mnet’s “M! Countdown”. Hyoyeon and Yuri served as special MCs for this episode of “M! Countdown”, which featured performances of “Dancing Queen” and “I Got A Boy” by Girls’ Generation. The members delivered a fun performance of “Dancing Queen” while dressed in cute outfits and high heels before changing into their hip hop outfits and sneakers to sing “I Got A Boy”, stunning the fans in attendance and watching at home.

Before performing on “M! Countdown”, Girls’ Generation also appeared on Mnet’s “Open Studio Talk”, where the members played games and answered questions from fans.

Girls’ Generation will next be performing on KBS’s “Music Bank”, today at 6:10 PM KST, and will sing “Dancing Queen” and “I Got A Boy”.
