Girls’ Generation – TTS has been nominated in three categories at the “Samsung Galaxy The 27th Golden Disk Awards in Kuala Lampur”: the Disk Album Award, the Digital Music Award, and the Popularity Award. The group will be competing against other artists such as BIG BANG, PSY, and Busker Busker, as well as fellow SM Entertainment artists, including Super Junior, SHINee, f(x), and EXO.
The winners of the album and digital music awards will be determined from the artists’ sales during the year of 2012, from January to December. The receiver of the Popularity Award will be decided by a popularity vote and the judges’ ratings of the nominees.
January 15th will be the start of this two-day event, which will be held at Sepang International Circuit in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia. jTBC will broadcast the show. This year’s “Golden Disk Awards” will begin at 7:30PM MYT on January 15th for the Album portion and resume at the same time on the 16th for the Digital Music section of the award ceremony.
Tickets for the two-day event is priced at RM688 for Rockpit and RM999 for the Samsung Galaxy Zone for two-day access while early birds who buy their tickets starting from December 9th to 15th will get a discounted price of RM620 and RM898 for each zone respectively.
Meanwhile, the last year Golden Disk Awards was also held outside of Korea earlier this year at Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan where Girls’ Generation won the Digital Daesang Award for the ‘The Boys’. Girls’ Generation have also won Daesangs consecutively on previous occasions; Digital Daesang in 2009 for ‘Gee’ and Disk Daesang in 2010 with ‘Oh!’ making them the first girl group to win three Daesangs.
